Founder & Managing Director, Stirling Silver Ltd
A true win-win: supporting charitable causes, reducing waste, and helping property owners make smarter use of vacant space.
With over 10 years of experience in the industry, Laura founded Stirling Silver with a simple goal: to reduce the unnecessary waste of good-quality office furniture being sent to landfill. What began as an office removals and second-hand furniture company was driven by a genuine commitment to sustainability — finding practical ways to redirect usable furniture to where it was needed most, rather than seeing it go to waste.
Through years of working closely with charities and community organisations, strong relationships were built with groups regularly in need of temporary spaces and practical support. This created a natural opportunity to connect two ongoing challenges: charities needing short-term premises, and commercial landlords facing full business rates liability on vacant properties.
Since then, the business has evolved to specialise in sourcing suitable vacant commercial properties for charitable use, helping landlords reduce or negate their vacant rates liability while providing charities with the space they need to operate. The result is a practical, fully compliant solution that benefits everyone involved — landlords, charities, and the wider community.
Our Values
Every client engagement is shaped by these principles — without exception.
Every solution we implement is fully compliant with current Non-Domestic Rating legislation. We do not use aggressive avoidance schemes — only legitimate, defensible strategies.
We understand that every day a vacant property accumulates rates liability is money lost. We move quickly from assessment to implementation — often within days of first contact.
Our occupier network is built on long-standing relationships with reputable charities and vetted short-term occupiers — ensuring the integrity of every arrangement we put in place.
We are accountable to outcomes, not just activity. Every engagement is measured by actual rates relief achieved — not effort expended.
Every inspection, arrangement, and service we deliver is fully documented — protecting you with insurers, local authorities, and any future due diligence requirements.
Operating across England, Wales, and Scotland — we have the coverage to manage multi-site portfolios and single properties alike, wherever they are located.
Credentials
Operating with full regulatory compliance and appropriate licences for every service we provide.
